Stephanie’s Top Picks for February 2013
Stephanie is a twenty-something year old female who has been taking surveys since 2008. She is currently a college student in the San Francisco bay area. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, painting, and working on her digital photography. She's also a huge tech-geek and loves playing video games when she gets the free time. Stephanie is always on the lookout for high-paying surveys and those ever-elusive Invoke focus groups.
I’ve been absent from the blog for a few months due to health issues, so I apologize for not answering any comments or questions directed toward me in the comment section of my articles. It’s definitely been a very stressful year so far for me. However, I’m still taking surveys and have a bit more time to devote to them since I’ve been home recovering a lot lately.
February was a pretty good month for me for survey-taking. I received a lot of invites and qualified for many surveys from the regular survey panels I take part in. My favorites continue to be Global Test Market, Valued Opinions, and SurveyHead. I’ve also been receiving a lot of invites from Springboard America lately and cashed out with them just recently.
My favorite panel for February would have to be Global Test Market. They have consistently been good to me over the past couple of years. I receive about 25 or more survey invites from them a week and manage to qualify for the majority of them. Their surveys are generally interesting to take, although some of them can be rather long for the amount of points they reward. Most of the subjects of the surveys I take part in involve electronics, video gaming, personal care products, health care, grocery shopping, and financial products. One survey I took recently involved music and what kinds of genres I like, as well as how I listen to and get information about music artists. I found it very fun and interesting, even though it was a bit on the long side.
I also received a few product tests in February from Global Test Market, including veggie burgers, body lotion, and body wash. I really enjoyed testing all the products and wish I received more product tests from Global Test Market. I earned about $30 in February and cashed out for another $50 check at the end of the month. I get so many surveys from them that I’m halfway toward cashing out again, which, if I’m lucky, I’ll be able to do at the end of March.
My second favorite survey panel for February is Valued Opinions. I’ve already cashed out for $60 in Amazon.com gift cards this year with them and was able to cash out $20 just recently at the end of January. I get about 10-20 invites from them each week and qualify for most of them. In February, I earned about $30 from them, although I’m still waiting on about $20 in pending credits. Hopefully I’ll be able to cash out again with them in March when I get those pending credits posted to my account.
I really enjoy taking surveys on Valued Opinions. Their surveys are fun to take and generally aren’t incredibly long like some other survey companies. The subjects usually involve electronics, personal care products, grocery shopping, fashion, and health care.
My third favorite survey panel for February is SurveyHead. I had given up on them for a bit because I kept disqualifying for their surveys, but gave them another chance and had better luck in January and February. I earned about $25 with them in February, but haven’t cashed out with them yet since I’m waiting to have some pending survey money credited to my account. It can be frustrating waiting for pending money to be credited, but sometimes you just have to be patient. Sometimes they can be rather slow.
For the most part, I enjoy taking SurveyHead surveys, although qualifying can be difficult at times. Some days I’ll go through a whole list of their surveys and won’t qualify for any of them, while other days I’ll qualify for the majority of them. Their most interesting surveys to me involve computers, video gaming, personal care products, and movies and TV shows.
It seems SurveyHead will be rebranding itself as “iPoll” in a few weeks. It will be interesting to see how that turns out. It seems they will be focusing more on mobile survey-taking, which really interests me since I have an iPhone and do enjoy taking surveys on it. I did download their iPoll app a few months ago and haven’t gotten many surveys. The ones I have taken, though, have been short and enjoyable, although they don’t pay very much. I’ll be interested to see how this turns out and hopefully they will improve their iPoll app by adding more survey opportunities.
For my fourth favorite survey panel for February, I chose Springboard America. I know they aren’t one of the more popular survey panels out there and survey invitations can vary, but I’ve been getting along quite well with them lately. There was a time period where I was hardly getting any invitations from them, but I received a lot in February, some paying up to $8.00 per survey. This added up quickly and I was able to cash out with them at the end of February for $50 PayPal. I earned approximately $20 with them in February alone.
I also really do enjoy taking their surveys. For the most part, they are enjoyable and the topics are very interesting. I especially enjoy their surveys that involve reviewing product designs (such as notebook or paper plate designs). I’m a graphic arts and design major, so those surveys really interest me and are a lot of fun. I also enjoy their surveys that involve future electronic products, such as digital cameras and smartphones, because I’m a huge technology geek.
All in all, I earned about $150 from survey panels in February alone, which isn’t too bad. This total is from all my survey panels combined, plus a couple video interview surveys I took for one company that pays $10-50 per survey, depending on how many questions are asked during the interview. Unfortunately, I didn’t take part in any online focus groups in February. They’ve been really hard to find lately, although I do have one scheduled for mid-March. I’m looking forward to seeing what March brings. See you next month and happy survey-taking!
