My Review of Toluna
Toluna is one of the oldest online survey panels out there. I first started using them in 2006. It's not my top panel but there's some good surveys in there and it's worth taking them as they hit your email. Toluna is also a big community of survey takers so it's a good learning experience to interact with other like-minded people.

Haven't had a problem
Toluna surveys sometimes are a pain when saying you're ineligible but they'll find you another. Their app gives you more surveys to do without email notification. They do give a lot of points for their surveys making it easy to reach a payout. I have collected my pay several times. -

AWESOME
I have been on Toluna for about a little while now made about 60$ almost at 60,000 points again and won the 100,000 point sweetakes once! I like how even if you don't qualify they still give you points. But Its nice for when I am bored at home I just go one and make post and interact. I think that is key to earning points. They send me a email when there are surveys available so i don't miss out. I nice for a little bit of extra cash! -

They take a while to get points to you but they do pay. -

Not worth it
Take longer than most to award points, deduct points you don't redeem in time, take longer than most convert point to rewards (3-4 months) and fail miserably to respond when you dare to enquire about anything. Global Test Market better. Toluna best avoided. -

Toluna Says : "This survey has just filled up."
When i got notification from Toluna and just open that survey Toluna says "This survey has just filled up." Toluna didn't give me survey to get points. -

SUCKS
I have gotten so many points and have redeemed toys r us gift card and Toluna cancelled my payment both times, and I cant find away to get a hold of them. I prefer swag bucks and global test market at least they pay you for your time. I wasted all this time for nothing... -

It's Ok
Toluna is an "ok" survery website but it does take a long time to build up the points to get the paypal withdrawal. It's a shame but you just have to be patient. -

toliuna great
I find toluna points mount up very quickly and have accumulated a number of rewards . They sometimes take a while to process but always arrive . would definitely recommend them -

Iffy
I have been paid for a couple of surveys but often they will say I didnt "qualify" after ive answered a lot of questions that are actual survey questions not qualifying questions. Most recently was how many times had I shopped in the past week which stores how much spent and what kind of items bought. After filling all that out I suddenly didn't qualify! Yah right! You already got the info you needed and got it for free. It only paid 50 cents for the survey but they scammed me out of it anyways.., -

You need a lots of points for little cash -

not impressed
I am not impressed by Toluna. It's an average site that pays lower compared to other survey panels available in the market today. The surveys are also time consuming and boring. They do pay but you have to be very patient. -
March 12, 2015
bait and switch
Plenty of surveys available but not worth the time since you just got disqualified at the end of most of them anyways. It seems strange that they cannot figure out a more efficient way of parsing the participants early on. This seems like a sure way to get people to not come back and look elsewhere for better survey sites. -

Waiting Times
This site is getting worse and worse. How can it take 9 WEEKS and more too send Paypal and e-vouchers ?. I was waiting 12 WEEKS for a Gift Card then was told it was sent 3 DAYS BEFORE it was PROCESSED ?????????. When you contact them they ALWAYS say " UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES " but never say what these are. Why state that you will get your vouchers and i quote " WITHIN 2-8 WEEKS " but you never do. -

reward waiting time
when ordering the likes of asda vouchers you can wait up to 9 weeks for them to arrive. -

Know what you're getting into!
This company might be unethical. You can end up wasting a lot of time carefully filling out one of their surveys, and then the next thing you know they redirect you to a website and explain you don't even qualify. I did like how you can get paid by pay pal though. -

Beware
I was with Toluna for two years and, while the surveys are very long for a relatively small amount of points and the payments can take up to two months to come through, I got plenty of surveys and would always get paid eventually. However, today my account has been deleted. I had to email them to obtain a reason, and received an autoreply that was incredibly vague and nonsensical, something to do with terms and conditions that, on their website, constitutes an exhaustive list. They owe me £70 in Paypal payments and will not answer emails as to whether I will still get them. I resorted to social media but they deleted my messages. I Googled the problem and found many more people who have been in the same boat, going good with them for a while but all of a sudden having their accounts mysteriously (and really quite aggressively) terminated, with precious little explanation but funnily enough, always on the verge of a payout. I'm really gutted because I was loyal to Toluna even though the survey rewards were low compared to other sites, and that was because I considered them to be more transparent and trustworthy. I feel utterly robbed and, having been ignored by them since, will seek to settle the matter via a financial ombudsman. My advice to people is beware: I did over 100 surveys (approx. 50 hours work) for that £70 (two £35 Paypal payments) that they've just denied for seemingly nothing at all other than their own corrupt greed. If you're currently with Toluna or thinking of joining, I would advise you to cash out as soon as you can each time rather than let the points build up, because it seems if you get a healthy balance and are due a healthy payout, they strike you off the books for some perceived slight. Good luck! -

Deceptive site
Toluna is a shady survey panel. They don't process the payments properly. I had to send multiple emails and threaten them in order to get paid. The qualification surveys are also too long. I wouldn't recommend Toluna to anyone. -

Technical issues
This site is full of bugs. I spent about 15 minutes on a couple of surveys. Both surveys crashed towards the end. I have sent many mails to the administrator but I never received a proper reply. They used to be good before but now they have gone downhill. -

No Value Here
This site does not doesn't treat its survey takers well at all. It pays too slowly, and sometimes it doesn't pay at all. Several times it has let me spend many minutes filling out a survey before informing me I'm not qualified to take it. In my opinion, Valued Opinions is a waste of a survey taker's time. -

Toluna Group Surveys Recap
Generally pleased with rewards offered, and have faith that they will pay in time. Negatives are that they require too many points to redeem for rewards, and you oftentimes get halfway through a survey before finding out that you did not qualify for it. -

Payment processing is extremely slow
Something is seriously wrong with Toluna. They never process the payments properly. It's been more than 2 months since I tried to redeem a voucher. It still says "processing" on the site. I sent several mails to support but I haven't heard back from them. -

A Dreadful Site
How come so many of the appalling reviews of Toluna on here have 5 stars when the writers would clearly like to give a negative rating? I can't believe so many people ticked the wrong box. This company truly takes the mickey. Today, for example I had a 30 minute survey offering me £0.20 - an hourly rate of 40 pence. And the number of surveys where you are screened out is unbelievable. Stay clear unless you are truly desperate. -
October 29, 2014
Be warned!
I am still waiting for an e-voucher after 11 weeks. The company has made various excuses for the length of time taken, none of which are valid as other survey companies send rewards in 1-2 weeks. I will definitely not be taking any further surveys. Not worthy of 1 star. -
October 23, 2014
major fraud
I was sent so many high value surveys and after jumping thru all the hoops and answering all the questions told at the very end I don't qualify Don't waste your time.Takes forever to accumulate any redeemable points -

Toluna points expire
Toluna points expire. So you are working your balls off to get some money by filling in surveys to get to 100000 points (25 euro) and than they take points away from the bottom. So you are not getting closer but further away from cashing in.... THIS IS NOT DONE..... Sometimes times passes before you can succesfully fill in another Survey. This sort of practice from Toluna shows that they do not appreciate the effort of there contestants.... They calculate in there advantage only and they think you must be really stupid to accept this sort of practice. I mean...It won't happen me twice. To me the end of Toluna. -
September 23, 2014I want to sign up, but when click on sign up button the message is " 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable ". Please fix the problem and let me know.

EXCHANGING FOR CASH
Hi, Would like to know how do I exchange the points for cash? there is no such option on the survey... I do not want to exchange for gifts. CASH ONLY! awaiting your urgent reply. -
September 2, 2014
Meh.
Pros: - fairly nice community Cons: - been with them for nearly a year and have barely accumulated a third of the necessary points to get a cash payment - their other payouts are odd: like they've got a towel for 32000 points (the average survey pays around 2000) - I get emails and notifications for new surveys but inevitably can't do them because a) my profile doesn't fit (then why'd you send me a notification?!) or b) they've reached their quota of people -

Toluna is terrible
If I could give this site less than one star I would. They are one of the worst sites out there for surveys. How would you like to spend 30+ minutes taking what amounts to a full survey...then get told you don't qualify for the survey and you get...NOTHING. Wait, I thought that long thing was the survey! You mean it wasn't? Then how long is the real one then? I wish I could say this was rare, but it is more the norm than not. You ask me, its a scam half the time as they don't limit the "screener" questions fr the surveys and basically that let's companies basically give you a survey, but get out of paying anything for your time. I've had some long ones too...one I can estimate had over 200 questions and what I thought was a complete, thorough survey, then told the quota was filled. Wait, you couldn't have told me that after the first dozen questions about my demographics? No, you waited until you asked me 200 questions about movies I might want to see? So wrong. Caveat #2...the amount of points needed to redeem for a reward is extremely high compared to other sites. Sure, they say "Oh here is 1000, 2000 points for a survey." That's great. Too bad it takes 60000 points for that gift card you want. So, if on average I take 40 full surveys for that $20 gift card (assuming average points is 1500 for the survey), that means, its about fifty cents for a completed survey. You do the math. It isn't hard to find survey sites out there that are double that amount. Heck, I know a few that average more than double that amount. My suggestion, find a different site. This one is struggling as it is and for the time you put in, another site will get you rewards 5 times as quickly. -
January 26, 2013The average 15-20 minute survey is usually worth 2,000 points. The minimum PayPal cashout is set at $20.00. Here's the kicker: you need 60,000 points to equal $20. Do the math... 3000 points equals $1.00, therefore each 2,000 point survey is only worth approximately 66 cents. So you'd need to do a minimum of 30 surveys per year to make just $20.00. And here's the REAL kicker... Toluna has instituted a new policy as of Sept. 2012 that "claws back" what they call "expired points" that were awarded longer than one year previously. For an example of how this has affected my own account with Toluna, see below for the "Contact Us" e-mail I sent Toluna when I discovered they had deleted over 10,000 points from my account. Secondly, I sincerely suggest that anyone contemplating signing up with toluna.com or toluna.ca or toluna.uk should VERY carefully read ALL the fine print in their policies regarding the accumulation and redemption of survey points. MESSAGE SENT TO TOLUNA: During my annual survey panel updating process I've discovered 4 instances of lost/stolen/"deducted" points on my account at the dates listed below: 28/09/2012 Deduction -1585 28/10/2012 Deduction -480 28/11/2012 Deduction -3030 28/12/2012 Deduction -5040 TOTAL: -10135 "current" POINTS BALANCE: 10410 CORRECT POINTS BALANCE: 18860 I have not received any e-mail notification whatsoever that this ridiculous new policy of "expiring" points after one year was to go into effect. There have been no e-mail notifications prior to each expiry date either. The only way I found out was by accident during the previously mentioned updating process. Considering the fact that it takes well over half a year to accumulate 60000 points for a measly $20 (as shown by the 3 times I've finally made it to the 60000 level: Sep 27, 2010, Feb 28, 2011 and Sep 19, 2011) it is outstandingly clear that this policy is designed to benefit the company itself and absolutely no one else. I know of no other online survey company that follows such a punitive and detrimental policy aimed solely at the very members that make their company's existence even possible. If these deductions are not restored as soon as possible, please be aware of the fact that the following actions will occur: 1. A fully detailed complaint report will be forwarded to the Better Business Bureau in your parent company's home state and the BBB's national headquarters offices for both Canada and the United States. 2. "Word-of-Mouth": I will personally put in the time and effort to spread the word via every available online social medium about the poor and incentiveless policies of Toluna.com. I will do this to make sure that any potential panelists out there avoid signing-up with the Toluna "community". This will be especially effective in the "Member's Comments" sections of the forty (40) other survey sites that I am a member. As of the end of December, 2012, my records indicate the last points balance on my account was at 18660 points. It is now 10410. I would like my points balance restored to its correct amount of 18660 as soon as possible please. Also, on behalf of all other Toluna customers that are ripped-off by this policy, I sincerely hope said policy will be discontinued immediately and all "deducted" points returned in full to each member where necessary.
-
November 12, 2012I was a member for quite awhile. I would rack up points modereately quickly and I always did the quick polls, which added up slowly. I was a member for about a year or so and probably made $100. Then all of a sudden, I couldn't log in to my account. I emailed the support center and was told that I had violated their terms & conditions of use. My account was cancelled. There was no warning whatsoever and I have no idea what I did. I asked for an explanation and never heard another word.
-
October 18, 2012NOTICE TO ALL PEOPLE DOING TOLUNA SURVEYS: As of January 2012 Toluna has added to their policy that your points you earn will expire after 12 months of receiving them. If you go into your account and click on your points it will tell you if you have any points that will expire in your account for that month.
-
September 7, 2012They are terrible, I joined about a year and a half ago, and they were okay, would get $20 checks sent to me every month or so. Even then it was hard to get a survey that paid even a dollar. But now they want you to do 25 minute surveys for $0.50! Any of the bigger values $2-5 you will be lucky to get and need to be a business director of a company with 1000 employees it seems. Since I started doing surveys again a few months ago I have qualified for one survey worth $0.50, all others were disqualified... I am done, they get a 1 out of 5 score from me. Stick to SH and OO for plentiful, quick paying surveys.
-
February 21, 2012I was a member of Toluna for a year when I started to be harassed by another member who accused me of being a member of a "gay agenda". I reported this member to Toluna moderators. They told me to offer him a goodwill gesture. He continued to harass me, and the next day my account along with this other member's was deleted. So as a result of being harassed they not only deleted my account but are refusing to pay me $20 they owe me. If you look at their boards, there are always complaints from members asking where their missing points are, why they haven't received their voucher long after the minimum waiting period (which is 6 weeks, even for paypal payments). Their surveys never pay more than a $1, and you're lucky if you qualify for one of those.
-
February 17, 2012They barely send you any surveys unless you are 18 years old or older. And the ones that you get are very low paying. Member support takes a long time to respond. And when you get paid you can only get a $20 check , so when you have $30 you have to wait until you get $10 more to cash out $40.
-
February 7, 2012It takes forever to get to a good redemption level. They throw hurdles at you. The cheapest redemption is for a sweepstakes entry. I guess they just want it to be a sinkhole for members since it doesn't cost them much. Your points are set to expire and that hinders you from reaching the payout. Again, forcing you to get waste them on sweepstakes.
-
January 1, 2012Have belonged to this site for about 2 years and have never earned anything worth having to date, well I think I have a balance of about £1 Surveys are structured so that they have all the info. that THEY require and then you are told that YOU DO NOT QUALIFY. Best advice - DO NOT BOTHER!!
-
November 26, 2011The good thing about Toluna is that you receive a lot of invites. On the flip side I'm not too impressed with their incentives. I've found that they send out surveys for higher point amounts (3000 and up) and rarely qualify for them. I think they try to hook you into clicking on the link in the email and then offer you a lower point survey that you can qualify for. It will take me a long time to reach the 60,000. I find this a high amount to work towards for only $20. There are other survey companies that offer better incentives.
-
October 24, 2011I have ben with Toluna for a few years now and I really connt complain. I get invites to take surveys and I usually qualify. They have always payed me what I earned. I would definetely recommend this survey site!
-
August 2, 2011surveys are extremely time consuming and tedious. time estimates are wildly optimistic. completed surveys frequently result in no points paid. once you do rack up enough points they are very slow to pay up, im still yet to receive my amazon E-VOUCHER 2 weeks after requesting. the only plus is there are lots of surveys. im unlikely to continue use after payment, there are much better sites out there.
-
July 21, 2011While ur wating for other surveys to appear you can take polls that are only worth 15 points but since there are alot you can help the market whenever!
-
July 11, 2011I've gotten 3 checks from this site so far, so it's legit.
-
June 30, 2011i have been with this site for about a year and just started geting surveys but haven't gotten any money or prizes or anything.
-
June 14, 2011The quality of the surveys produced by Toluna are very good and if I were one of their clients, I would definitely keep them on a permanent contract. The surveys come very frequently but these are the only highlights of the site. As a member, I feel very let down. After spending time to complete these surveys, I expect to at least get a reply to my email if I have a query. After waiting more than 8 weeks for Amazon vouchers to be processed, the queries I have sent regarding these vouchers have not been actioned. I am still waiting for the vouchers and answers to my emails. For this reason, I will be leaving the site once I have received the payments. Toluna is a great site - when it keeps its promises.
-
April 24, 2011i recived my first check trustable site
-
March 25, 2011Toluna is one of the best reward sites I have encountered. Points for prizes can be earned easily by completing polls. I have earned three billboard songs ($1 each) on the site
-
March 22, 2011Much like Sam from UK, I am still awaiting vouchers that were ordered six months ago!! The first time I chased it, I was sent the link to a blog stating that they were having problems with obtaining vouchers, and that they were doing everything in their power to get it resolved. Today, I have been told that the vouchers were sent out in October, but that I have the wrong address recorded on my profile, so they are not liable to send me any replacements. Quite a contradiction. Whilst I've enjoyed completing the surveys, I think it is unacceptable to expect members to wait an inordinate amount of time without receiving their rewards. There are better and more customer focused sites out there.
-
March 20, 2011To my knowledge Toluna is a best hassle free survey site which is very helpful to beginners. it offers free paid surveys and encourages people to earn money online and gives support to many families all over the world, which is highly appreciable. It also helps many companies to improve their brand quality, brand publicity, to develop new , innovative, consumer oriented and consumer friendly products. Hats off to Toluna
-
March 17, 2011been waiting 3 months for vouchers, and no credible explanation, auto replies
-
March 7, 2011I've been with toluna for a while know but i never cashed out any money recently I've gotten 3 free music downloads worth $1 each for billboard music downloads. I do get allot of survey invitations but don't qualify for many of them. most of the survey's are worth over 1000 points the highest I've gotten was 6000 and these survey come 3-4 a day you can also take polls that are worth for 15 points to 75 points and make your own polls, and you can try to qualify to try out products.
-
February 28, 2011Toluna are one of the companies providing surveys to Surveynetwork. I find a few times, I answer several screens of questions, not just demographics but quite a few details and THEN get told I dont qualify which I think is naughty. Apparently a requirement of the company. Just did one on TV viewing and use of internet - quite searching. I do go into a draw but they are getting too much information before disqualifying.
-
February 5, 2011I have to admit this is the best survey site on the web in my opinion. Sometimes there are problems, but all websites have their problems. This has the best incentives of any of the survey groups I belong too!. Thank Toluna for being online for those of us who want to share our opinions for those marketing products available now and for the future!
-
January 23, 2011I give three stars on all individual areas because I am a member of a few survey sites so it's a little hard to keep track of the quality, etc. I am so far very pleased with Toluna. I have only been a member for a month and am already half-way to the cashout point (I have 30,000 points and it is 60,000 to redeem). I have noticed that most, if not all, of the surveys I have received that were worth 1,000+ points had already reached the number of participants they needed, even if I tried to enter the survey within an hour of receiving an email. However, there are easy ways to receive a lot of extra points on the website through sponsored polls. 0.15/poll may not seem like much but it has added up quite nicely and does not take long to do - you can even filter the polls on the website so that only the sponsored polls/surveys will show up! I have given four stars instead of five for the overall rating because I have only been a member for a month so I have had no need for the customer support, have no idea how well the cashing out process will go, and also because a good chunk of the surveys I am sent have already reached the maximum number of participants. But still you get entered into the monthly sweepstakes every single time you could not complete a survey, get random survey incentives, and can probably get the same amount of points that a survey offers in the same amount of time it takes to do a survey by participating in sponsored polls on the website instead. This is so far the fastest I've progressed on a survey site! Very pleased so far!
-
January 23, 2011Toluna at first wasn't all that great, I didn't like it when they bought out Your2Cents.com awhile back, because at the time Your2Cents was greatly trusted. After awhile I got used to it, and at first this site would take about 8 weeks to send their payments (as did Your2Cents) but they always arrived. They started to payout in Paypal which was nice, but for some reason they went back to checks and it's even better because now checks arrive within 3-4 weeks of requested date. Received every check!
-
January 20, 2011Toluna is a pretty good survey company. They have many surveys so I check the site everyday. Some surveys pay low incentives like 2400 points(60,000points=$20),the others pay high including PT and Invoke online discussion.Except to the sweepstakes survey I take all other surveys as I don't want to miss any Invoke.Invoke pay $15-$75 per session about 1-2 hours credited with 4-6 weeks. Toluna doesn't provide many payment options.Usually I choose check or VIP gift vouchers.Hope they will add Paypal in the future.Another thing they need to do is improve the payment processes.Checks are delayed several times. That's horrible. Anyway I earned $320 from toluna last year and remainly in my favorite survey company list.
-
November 2, 2010Toluna has been a pretty good site for me. They send surveys fairly often that usually pay at least 3000 points ($1) each. However, most of the time I don't qualify but at least the screening process is pretty fast so I don't waste too much time. The thing I like most about the site is there are "sponsored polls" that pay a few cents each that you can take every single day by logging into the site. You won't get rich taking these but they help to supplement the earnings from surveys so you can reach the payment threshold faster (it is $20 for a check). It takes Toluna a long time to get back to me when I email them about an issue. They always respond back eventually so you just have to be patient with their support. I would definitely recommend this site because the rewards definitely outweigh the few minor problems that you may run into.
-
November 2, 2010I was a memeber of your 2 cents before they merged with Toluna. I have given Toulna the time they needed to work out the kinks and now I think they are a very good site. SURVEYS: The surveys offered are done in points where 3000 points equals $1.00. Everyday in my email inbox there are roughly 3-5 surveys to take ranging in various points. While I tend to take surveys in various ranges of points it is important to look how long each survey is. If there is a 900 point survey which takes 40 minutes i'm obviously not going to take a 40 minute survey to make 30 cents. In addition you can log onto the toluna site and click the survey button and attempt to take a number of surveys daily. POINTS CREDITED TO ACCOUNT: In the beginning it took a long time to have your points go from a incentive pending status to actually showing on your account. In the last month Toluna has really stepped their game up and points usually post in one to two days. I do recommend that each time you do complete a survey go on your toluna homepage to make sure that next to the survey you took it says incentive pending. A few times when I completed surveys it showed sweepstakes entry. Everytime I wrote to customer support regarding this problem. On only one occassion did they not respond or properly credit my account. MORE WAYS TO EARN POINTS:Toluna offers sponsored surveys from 15 points to up to 150 points or higher. They are very easy to do and it's a great way to add points on to your account. You can also earn additional points by writing 80 plus words on opinion topics or you can create your own opinion polls to earn points. PAYMENT:The minimum to cash out is 60,000 points/$20.00. I really liked it when Toluna offered paypal. Now for some reason they do payments by checks. I've always received the checks I requested by paypal was so much more easier to use. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The customer service is very slow to respond to inquiries so don't be surprised if it takes what seems like forever for them to respond to your emails OVERALL: I think Toluna is a very good site. They give you plenty of ways to earn money. They have really improved since they came into the survey scene and I would recommend them as one of the better paying sites out there.

September 6, 2010I have been A member of Toluna for A little over A year now for quite A long time I qualified and complted the surveys and all the while not realizing how much they're points are worth. It took me 9 months to be able to cash out for 20 dollars, 9 MONTHS!!! Totally ridiculous! Ever since they started changing things about they're site and then saying that they would have things fixed soon I have rarely been qualified to take any of they're surveys! Probably 1 in 2 months! On top of that the amount of points and how much you get paid is just pennies! They suck big time now! TOLUNA SUCKS! I am waiting for my check in the mail and well see how long that takes!

August 30, 2010Good review Stephanie. Yes I know what you are talking about. I signed up probably about 3 weeks ago and already have 34,000 points and probably about 15,000 pending. I stay away from the 1,200 surveys. Are you kidding me? Not worth it for 15-20 minutes. Maybe 5 minutes. I usually get 3,000-9,000 points surveys when they email me but when I log onto the site to do surveys from theyre router it's usually like 900 to 1,200 points and rarely see a 3,000 or 6,000 point survey. Infact, I got upset yesterday evening because I was doing a 9,000 point survey and guess what after like 8 minutes it says I did qualify. Could not have told me that from the beginning. Overall a decent site but not the best. That sucks they dont do pay-pal anymore. Wait 5 weeks for a check. I hate waiting so long.

August 27, 2010I’ve been with Toluna since about mid-2008. So far, I’ve received about $300 from them. 60,000 points is the minimum cash out, which equals $20. It used to take me not that long to cash out, but lately it’s been taking much longer because I don’t seem to get as many invitations anymore or don’t qualify as often. They used to do payments through PayPal, which I really preferred, but now they are only paying through checks. I have had no issues with receiving payment, which usually takes up to 4 weeks. Lately, I haven’t been super impressed with them. The amount of emailed surveys I get from them has gone down quite a bit. Whenever I do get a survey that pays a decent amount of points, it’s almost always filled up by the time I respond (even if I respond right away) or I don’t qualify. Also, point values for surveys seem to have decreased a lot over time. 3,000 points = $1, not $3, so it can be confusing. 900 points is only equal to a measly 30 cents or so, so you need to remember that when a survey comes up that’s 900 points for 30-50 minutes, which is just downright insulting in my opinion. I avoid those and stick to surveys that pay 3,000 points and up (unless it’s a very short one for 900 or 1,200 points, which are usually few and far between, but do occur). Even if you don’t qualify for a survey, you get entered in their monthly sweepstakes. I rarely get surveys for more than 6,000 points or invites to online focus groups. I think I’ve maybe done one or two focus groups with them since 2008, but that’s about it. I know that sometimes 900 point surveys or surveys with sweepstakes offers only (or a blank rewards field, which is common from what I’ve heard) will lead to Invoke online focus groups (more money), but most of the time these surveys are just too long to bother with for 900 points and no guarantee of it being an Invoke or not. I rarely have the patience for that and when I do, I haven’t had much luck with it and rarely qualify. I’ve also had a few product tests with them (mainly food), but not as many as other sites. Customer service is not the greatest, either. I had a problem with receiving surveys when I recently changed my email address, so I contacted customer service. They got back to me in a few days with a rather generic answer to my question which didn’t help me at all. I emailed them again, but never got another response. I emailed them a few more times after that, but, again, they never responded and it’s been about a month or more since then. Needless to say, their customer service is pretty poor, so don’t expect a response back from them if you have any issues. My tips for getting the most out of Toluna are: 1.) Don’t bother with surveys lower than 3,000 points unless they are very short. 900 points (30 cents) for a survey lasting 30+ minutes is a huge waste of time in most circumstances (unless they lead to a focus group invite, which, from my experience, is pretty rare). Sometimes there are 1,200 point surveys for only a few minutes, so I usually complete those because they’re so short. 2.) Cycle through surveys on your “My Surveys†page by reloading the page and completing the starter questions each time. Just keep cycling through the surveys until you find one that’s worth the time to complete for the amount of points given. If you can’t find one, just try another day. 3.) Respond to sponsored polls when you get the chance. Sure, they’re only 15 points, but they add up over time and only take a few seconds to answer. 4.) Respond to sponsored surveys, which are a bit different from polls and are more like mini-surveys. They only take a minute or less to answer and consist of a few questions. Sometimes they will lead to another survey, but from my experience, I usually rarely qualify because the quota is full so I don’t usually bother going to the longer surveys. You get anywhere from 30-150 points for answering these mini-surveys. 5.) Write your own 80+ word responses to opinion topics. You can earn up to 5,000 points each month for doing so and it can be pretty fun. You earn 100 points for each 80+ word response. 6.) You can also create your own opinion topics or polls to earn points. I myself haven’t done this yet, but I hear the more answers you get to your polls or opinion topics, the more points you get. 7.) Always make sure to keep your interest/profile surveys up to date (this can be said for any survey company, really). 8.) You can refer people to Toluna for 500 points for each person. 9.) Do their surveys in Internet Explorer. I always seem to get errors (especially on surveys with video) when I do them in Firefox, so I always use IE. So, in summary, Toluna is a pretty good survey company, although they used to be a lot better. They are not in my current top 10 because I don’t get as many good-paying surveys from them anymore compared to what I used to get, but I will continue to stick with them to see how things go. They can be very time-consuming if you don’t get surveys that offer a lot of points regularly and it can take a while to cash out.

August 4, 2010I keep a spreadsheet with the dates, surveys completed and points earned and pending. I checked my points recently and found that a huge amount of points were reversed. When I questioned support I was told it was probably because I accidentily closed my account! How can I be logged into my account and viewing my survey history and points if my account was closed? It could also not have been due to inactivity because the reversal happened within days of my last log in. It is also VERY frustrating to spend time answering survey questions and then 10 minutes later find out I did not qualify. This is also highly questionable due to the fact that the questions are NOT screener questions. I am not wasting any more of my time on this site.

July 21, 2010I'm excluded from MANY of their surveys, I suspect it's because of my age. (I'm 79). They used to be called Greenfield, I was a member of theirs for many years, and they got to where they turned me down more often than not, too. I'm seriously thinking of sending them a Goodbye Note.
-
July 20, 2010Like everyone else here said, they require a HUGE amount of points to cash out. Secondly, their surveys don't work on firefox or chrome, just IE. Thirdly, the benefit is that they have those quick polls and opinion pieces..but it's not really worth it and you're not getting fairly compensated for your time.

June 23, 2010I joined them in January 2010 and I was on a roll I did my profile and finished it all . I dont seenm to qualify for most of there surveys so Im stuck with answering the polls just to get points to cash out. 60.000 thats a lot of surveys to qualify for at first I did qualify for them but they get all of your information and your half way through thinking that you will get all of those points then they tell you the quota has been filled and say thank you for your time. Well my time is money to just like there big companies ,Im at 48.000 points and seems to me that they just dont want me to get to the 60.000 so that I can cash out. I hope that I will never get suckered into taking surveys that trick you for information just to say sorry to you . Atleast they should pay you for your time. Id rather stick with MyPoints at least they have Visa cards and gift cards and Ive cashed out with them atleast 5 times , Hey and there surveys keep pouring into my email all day so whats the point in taking the surveys? I guess I have to keep going until I reach the pay out points then Im cashing out . Good Luck everybody who just like taking surveys for nothing.Sign up with Opinion Outpost,My Points,Isay,Pinecone research,Focusline surveys,RewardPort survey,Survey head, Survey Exchange etc They have a good pay out and they pay very well . There are all free to join . Tell me what you think? Wouldnt you want to be paid for taking surveys ? Chow

June 16, 2010I agree with Peter's review on Feb 27. They were good when 'your 2 cents' but since then I seldom qualify. The reward points don't add up very fast and it takes an awful lot of them to get anything.

June 11, 2010I was a GreenField member and had my account changed to Toluna. Since then i cannot log into my account and i have had no reply from Toluna over my problem in months. Their first and only email reply to me stated that they were having problems in this area and hoped to resolve them soon. Since then i have tested products and completed surveys which i know have come to more than the minimum of the ten dollar cash out. I started doing these surveys when my husband became disabled and we needed more money without me having to travel a distance to do it. So the surveys seemed like a good idea at the time. I never had problems while Toluna was Greenfield, but now i am feeling very cheated out of my time and money. If Toluna does not bother to respond to my issue soon, and pay me what i have earned, i will have to file a complaint with the internet crimes commission. How hard can it be for a huge company to respond to my emails and send me a check for the money i have earned while putting in countless hours for this company? I do surveys for several other companies and have never had this problem.

April 2, 2010Like many, I was hesitant after the merger with Greenfield. To be honest, I hated Greenfield surveys - Toluna had been fairly good on it's own, so I sat back and watched for awhile to see which elements of each company would win out in the end. Like many people have pointed out, the 900 point surveys are rather insulting. By the 60,000 points = $20 system, it means you're only earning $0.30 cents for 10-25 minute surveys that would pay a dollar on most other sites. BUT...there is good news. As Lee pointed out, the new Toluna site hosts sponsored polls and opinion topics that you can vote on each day (mainly during the work week I'm finding), and that's been one of the greatest elements to my success. The points for sponsored elements range from 15 - 250 each, but only take a few seconds to complete. So while that may not seem like a lot, as far as time commitment vs. point value is concerned, I would rather just log in and answer a few quick questions twice a day than spend more time on the basic surveys; I find that I can make several hundred points each day just by doing these simple offers! Also, you can earn up to 5,000 points a month by writing your own 80+ word opinion topics (each worth 100 points). If you like to write, this is a very easy way to build up points each month. Finally, there is a key to getting more points for the surveys. Log into your member area and click on "My Surveys" (or follow the basic email invites you're currently receiving about "a new way to take surveys!") . You'll be led to the current prompt page for new surveys. If you are offered a survey you don't think is very valuable, just hit refresh! You'll answer a new set of starter questions, and be offered a different survey. Do this until you find one worth your while. I rarely do the 900 point surveys (unless I'm bored and they are 10 minutes or less), but quite frequently find ones that pay 3,000 points or more. In fact, I just completed one for 12,000 points this past week, which pushed me over the cash-out threshold yesterday! If you follow these suggestions, you can gradually accrue points with a reasonable amount of effort spent. It's not quite as lucrative as other survey sites, but steady enough that I'm sticking with it!

March 4, 2010They send me a lot of surverys that I don't qualify for. No reason why. I get tired of giving them my name address etc etc, and not qualifying. Otherwise, I like them ok. I enjoy taking surveys while I'm watching something on tv. Otherwise, I pick my fingers. Thanks, Kathy

February 27, 2010This used to be a decent survey company when it was Your2Cents and Toluna, before the merger with Greenfield. Since the merger, the frequency of surveys has gone up, but the number of surveys that I qualify for has gone down considerably. I used to qualify for approx. 20 - 25 % of their surveys, but now it is under 5 %. So, as a result the total number of surveys that I have qualified for, has gone down, even with the increased frequency. Furthermore, the incentives have gone down. You used to be able to earn 3000 points ($ 1.00) per 15 - 20 min, but now the majority of their surveys only reward you with 900 points ($ 0.30) per 15 - 20 min survey. And this low reward incentive is the lowest among the survey companies. There are surveys, which still reward you with 3000 points per 20 min, but about 1/3 fall in this catagory. And I never seem to qualify for those!! When this site was named "paid-online-surveys" (or so) Greenfield was one of the lowest rated survey companies and based on what I read in the reviews, I decided not to join them. Now I get to experience first hand, why Greenfield was rated so low, and I completely understand that now. Unfortunately, Toluna now uses Greenfiied methods and I do not really care for those. As soon as I qualify for the minimum cash out (60,000 points = $ 20.00) I will leave this company, but that might take me a while with these practices.
-
February 25, 2010I was with Greenfield for years and since it's been Toluna I've been very unhappy. First of all my computer won't work for the surveys, have to use another computer. Secondly, they deducted 20,000 points from my account because they said I was inactive. I was never at any time inactive. As soon as I reach payout amount I'm canceling my account.

February 18, 2010I've been a member since the end of October until now and I only took around 2-3 surveys per week (although offered more) and have already made $60.00 since! Each survey is an average of 15-30mins long and around $1-5 dollars each! Very legit; no exaggerations or promises to make absurd amounts of cash as a beginner! Just a professional fun sight where you can earn a great amount of extra cash in your spare time. It takes $20 to cash out and is completely free to join! Majority of surveys are multiple choice only but some include fun pictures, popular movie trailers, and drag and drop features! I would join if I were you, there's honestly nothing to lose and I've been apart of many surveys sights this one is just so simple and legit.

January 2, 2010I used to like your2cents a lot better, now I get these emails from toluna. Don’t really care for it since the change. They points you need to cash out are high, and take a long time to achieve $10 bucks. I still do the surveys from time to time, usually on weekends if I am a bit bored. The surveys themselves are good, I just like to see my time and opinions being paid for a bit more. Would recommend this one more than some of the others though!

December 31, 200919. Your2Cents $90 (Minimum pay out: 60,000 points or $20) (Joined: 2008-03-01) (product tests) ($90 rec’d) Toluna has been very consistent in sending me $1 to $6 surveys, many of which I qualify for. I have earned $90 from them since March 1, 2008. You get a $1 bonus for filling out each of the 13 profiles, which are credited as soon as you complete your first survey. There is a $20 minimum cash out (60,000 points) and they do not currently offer PayPal. Occasionally they will send you a free product test. They also have quarterly $5000 sweepstakes drawings. Toluna's new site now offers a community experience that allows us to earn points by giving 80-word opinions (100 points), taking polls (15 points) and also by creating polls and opinion questions. There are also sponsored surveys that are worth 120 to 300 points. You receive 500 points for referring a friend. Toluna acquired Your2Cents earlier this year and is set to acquire Greenfield Online January 4, 2010 so we are not yet certain what the future holds.

April 23, 2019While it is possible to earn some dollars, it is mostly a rip off. In 80 - 85% of the surveys you'll spend 10 - 20 minutes answering questions and then they'll yell you "The survey just filled up" or "We are looking for a slightly different profile". This is after they have already asked you the questions they need answered. This way they don't have to give you any points.
