Creating Whitelist for Paid Survey Panel Emails

Posted on by

To ensure that you receive all of your survey invitations from the survey panels you join, it is important to add all of the survey panel email addresses to your whitelist. In this guide, we will show you how to add emails to your whitelist in the following web based email clients: GmailYahoo, and Hotmail.

Gmail: Create Filters

In Gmail, you must create a “filter.” This tells Gmail to look for certain email addresses, and what to do when it finds them. In this case, we want Gmail to look for the email addresses of all the survey panels, and keep them OUT of the Spam folder. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account, and then click on the “Create a filter” link (at the top of the Gmail page, near the “Search the Web” button).Create a Gmail Filter
  2. This will load a large, and potentially confusing, page. Don’t worry! It’s easier than it looks.Create a Gmail FilterIn the “From” box, type the email address(es) of the survey panel(s). You can include more than one panel in single filter by including a “|” in between the addresses. (Note: “|” is NOT a lowercase L. “|” is a symbol you find on most keyboards by holding SHIFT and the “” key.)

Tip: If you wish, you can copy and paste the following list into the “From” box to add the email addresses for all the survey panels that we are going to feature in our course.

Note: If you are not using Internet Explorer you must also copy the highlighted selection by using the following key combination: Ctrl+c (Windows) or Command+C (Mac)

  3. Click “Next Step.” Put a checkmark in the box that says “Never send it to Spam” and then click “Create Filter” as shown below.Create a Gmail FilterThat is all there is to it, you have created a filter using Gmail!

    Yahoo: Create Filters

In Yahoo email, you must create a “filter.” This tells Yahoo to look for certain email addresses, and what to do when it finds them. In this case, we want Yahoo to look for the email addresses of all the survey panels, and keep them OUT of the Spam folder. We’ll have to set this up individually for each survey panel. Here’s how:

    1. Log in to your Yahoo email account, and then click on the “Options” ? “Mail Options” link (at the top of the Yahoo email page).Create a Gmail Filter
    2. This will load a large, and potentially confusing, page. Don’t worry! It’s easier than it looks.Create a Gmail FilterClick on Filters, then click the “+Add” button. In the Filter Name box, just put the name of the survey panel you are going to add. For instance, “Opinion Outpost.” In the “Sender” section, select “Contains” from the drop-down menu, and then enter the email address for that panel. For Opinion Outpost you would enter “[email protected]” as shown in the example above.

In the section that says “Then deliver the email to the following folder,” be sure to select “Inbox”, or the preferred folder for this specific survey panel.

    3. Click the “+Add” button to save your entry and repeat steps 2-3 for each survey panel you join.Tip: Here are the names and email addresses for all the panels we will feature in our course. If you like, you can add the filters for all the panels now, so you don’t have to come back and do it again later.
