Hannah’s Top Five Survey Panels (October 2011)
October was an interesting month for my survey panels. I’ve been taking surveys for just over a year, and have added several panels in the last couple months. In October, most of the panels that normally give me surveys dropped down to having nearly nothing. My lowest panel, which normally has a lot of surveys, got me only one survey disqualification, for a whopping 10 cents! One survey panel picked up the slack and more than made up for the rest, though. I plan to try a few new survey panels over the next few months and will report the results.I also was able to participate in a few product trials in October, like frozen breakfast food and shampoo, and have qualified for a few other product trials that are to be shipped to me to use later in November. I always enjoy getting to try new things, and my husband likes the way the new shampoo smells, so that’s a bonus. Here is my current top five paid surveys list (October 2011)

I had earned a small but steady income at Opinion Outpost, but they have offered me many more (and higher-paying) surveys over the last few months as they have been beginning to offer the new surveys and move towards the site merger. In October, they rolled out their new site design and a lot of changes. They are still having technical difficulties that have left their support team overwhelmed, but even so, I’ve managed to complete a lot of surveys and they were my #1 moneymaker for October. Opinion Place is a different survey panel. They only allow you to take one survey per week, and it is up to you to log on and take it. If you don’t qualify for a survey that day, you can try again the next day. Most surveys pay $1-$5, and last less than 25 minutes. These surveys have the best return for the time spent, and pay quickly. I get my rewards as Amazon.com gift certificates (though PayPal is also available, and I am considering switching to that after Christmas), and while they say 3-4 weeks until you receive your reward, most arrive in 1-2 weeks. Excellent customer service as well.

It is a little difficult to calculate exact earnings at MyView, since they are on a variable point system. You earn points, but the points do not have a strict exchange rate with money. Most items are redeemable for about 1,400 points per dollar, (which is what I use for my calculations) but some are more or less, and saving up points to redeem later can benefit you in the long run. I received a lot of survey invitations from Ipsos I-Say this month, and disqualified from most of them. Apparently they don’t need people in my demographic at the moment, hopefully that will pick up soon. If not, I’ll stop spending time with them.

Obviously, I only joined this panel at the end of the month, so shouldn’t expect to receive a lot. One interesting thing was that even though I registered and got an account on October 17th, I did not receive a confirmation email until October 22nd, and my first survey wasn’t until October 25th. So, the $2 I earned was done in only a few days. I’ll be interested to see what happens this month, as I have already received a bunch of survey invitations. They also did not seem to have a bunch of profiles to fill out at the beginning, but have been doling the profiles out a few at a time over the last week or so.
